Warriors starting center Zaza Pachulia will be out for at least a week with a right rotator cuff strain, sustained while diving for a loose ball in Golden State’s 113-111 victory over the Blazers on Sunday.
Stephen Curry missed that game with the flu, but will return Wednesday to face the Hornets at Oracle Arena. Curry revealed on Wednesday that he got the flu from his daughter Riley’s pre-school.
With both Pachuila and David West still out (thumb), JaVale McGee is likely to start if the Warriors elect to go with a traditional center. Expect both James Michael McAdoo and Kevon Looney to also receive extended minutes. McGee has started two games for the Warriors this season.
Zaza told reporters at Warriors shoot around that he will continue to work out while he recovers, but only his legs.
“I’m not the most athletic guy in the league,” Pachulia said. “Gotta keep my strength.”
