Shane McElrath is the current Monster Energy Supercross points leader in the Western Regional 250SX Class Championship. He captured his first career victory at the season opener in Anaheim on January 7 and backed it up with another win the following weekend in San Diego.
Entering his fourth season as a pro, McElrath has progressed to become a fixture in the battle for the podium, and is poised to make a run for his first career title in 2017. The North Carolina native’s confidence is at an all-time high, and he’s proving he has the mettle to handle the pressure of contending for a championship through the early portion of the season.
McElrath leads a star-studded lineup of riders headed to Oakland Coliseum on the afternoon of February 4,for the fifth round of Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship. He’ll look to maintain control of the early title fight in the 250SX Class, while reigning back-to-back champion Ryan Dungey will continue to defend his crown against the most talented field of competitors, each chasing the sport’s most esteemed trophy.
