The Warriors are sitting pretty at 10-2 and feeling more and more comfortable every night on this East Coast road trip.
Two nights after punking Toronto on ‘Drake Night’, Golden State hushed the Boston crowd in a 104-88 victory.
All night long, Celtics fans were were insistent on booing Kevin Durant, almost to the point of nausea. Outside the TD Garden, shirts were sold with the phrase ‘Durant is a B—-.’ Ridiculously, Celtics fans still remain bitter at Durant, who luckily granted Boston’s brass a meeting during his Fourth of July recruitment weekend in The Hamptons.
Although it’s expected for fans to be rowdy, especially on a Friday night, Draymond Green felt compelled to address this behavior from the Boston fan base.
“Fans must be desperate,” Draymond Green told reporters after the game. “Like, who boos a guy for taking an interview? That’s crazy. Y’all booing somebody for interviewing y’all. Man, (Boston) may scare free agents away. You don’t want to take an interview and then make enemies for taking an interview. I don’t know. They may want to be careful with that.”
By the end of the game, the boos had been silenced. Durant scored 23 points on 10/13 shooting.
The Celtics are an exciting young team, but part of the reason Durant granted Boston the meeting was because of the prestige of their franchise. Celtics fans are delusional if they really think Durant’s best chance to win is in Boston.
