Westbrook continues passive-aggressive behavior towards Durant

Overnight, Kevin Durant vs. Russell Westbrook has become the NBA’s most compelling rivalry. And Westbrook keeps adding fuel to the fire.

A few weeks after denying a report that he and Durant had mended fences, Westbrook doubled-down on Thursday after a Thunder practice.

When asked about Durant’s comments on the Warriors being a selfless team, and more of a family environment, Westbrook responded, “That’s cute.”

“My job is to worry about what’s going on here,” Westbrook continued. “We’ll worry about the selfish guys we’ve got over here, apparently. So, we gonna figure that out.”

Westbrook was asked a follow-up, if it’s tough that he has to be asked about every little thing Durant says.

“I don’t care,” Westbrook said. “To me, it doesn’t matter. My job is to worry about here. Honestly, I’m really tired of talking about it. So anytime anybody asks me another question about it, I’m just not going to answer.”

It’s fair to say Westbrook is no longer a fan of Durant. He’s treating this matchup like a rivalry. Warriors fans: start clearing your calendars for Nov. 3. when the Thunder will make a trip to Oracle Arena.

Also, those who are saying the Thunder will barely make the playoffs need to re-look at their roster. Steven Adams, Enes Kanter, Victor Oladipo, Andre Roberson and Westbrook — who is the odds on favorite to win the MVP award — is a formidable starting five. There’s a chance they could be a No. 3 seed in the West behind the Clippers.
