Former 49ers offensive lineman Anthony Davis retired for the second time in as many years last week, but is wasting no time taking shots at his former quarterback.
After another listless performance by Blaine Gabbert in the 49ers 33-21 loss to the Cardinals on Thursday, in which he threw for just 162 yards with two picks, Davis posted a poll on Twitter asking if fans would rather see an injured Thad Lewis or Colin Kaepernick at 70 percent.
Davis eventually deleted the tweet, but not before 4,632 fans voted on it. It may be a cold move by someone who probably isn’t on the best terms with Niners fans at the moment, but the results would seem to indicate that the “Faithful” are even more fed up with Gabbert. Kaepernick garnered 63 percent of the votes, while Lewis, who suffered a season ending knee injury in the preseason, is in second place with 25 percent.
