The San Francisco 49ers today announced they have promoted WR Chris Harper to the active roster from the team’s practice squad. In order to make room on the roster, the team has released RB DuJuan Harris.
Harper (5-11, 185) originally signed on the 49ers practice squad on September 5, 2016. He entered the NFL with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent on May 8, 2015 out of the University of California. After beginning the 2015 season on the Patriots practice squad, he was later elevated to the team’s 53-man roster where he appeared in five games and registered one reception for six yards. He was released by New England on September 3, 2016.
Harper will wear number 14.
Harris (5-7, 206) was re-signed by the 49ers on September 5, 2016 following his release on September 3, 2016.
