Davis, who was the 11th overall pick in 2010, announced on Twitter Monday that he had filed his paperwork for reinstatement.
The 26-year-old started 71 games in five seasons for the 49ers before abruptly retiring on June 5, 2015.
Davis has sent some cryptic tweets about his communication with general manager Trent Baalke, but appears ready to suit up for the 49ers and compete with Erik Pears and Trent Brown for the starting right tackle job.
