According to beat reporters in New York, however, the injury is not serious.

In his first at-bat leading off the second inning, Posey fouled a ball off his foot. After putting some weight on the foot, Posey drew a walk. The Giants’ catcher led off the fourth inning with a single and didn’t look injured running the bases, but Bruce Bochy removed Posey in favor of Trevor Brown to open the fourth inning.
The Giants have lost five straight games since the All-Star break entering Friday’s series opener at Yankee Stadium.
