Giants catcher Buster Posey is currently out of a starting spot on the National League All-Star team by just over 5,000 votes in the last update released by MLB before the rosters are announced.

In last week’s voting update, Posey trailed the Cardinals’ Yadier Molina by about 75,000 votes, so Posey has picked up some ground in the past week. He has another three days to close the gap and surpass Molina, as voting closes on June 30.
Several other Giants showed up in the top 5 at their positions, including Brandon Belt in second place at first base, but no one else except for Posey seems to have a realistic shot at catching up and winning a spot in the starting lineup.
Though voting ends on Thursday, the final results won’t be announced until next Tuesday, July 5, in a special selection show at 4 pm on ESPN.
