The Warriors are among three teams already scheduled to meet face-to-face with Kevin Durant once he becomes a free agent, according to ESPN’s Marc Stein. The Warriors, San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder, Durant’s current team, are going to meet with the free agent to-be, while Stein reports that more teams are expected to schedule meetings by the time free agency begins at 12:01 a.m. on July 1.

The report said the Warriors will fly out “key organizational figures” like Steph Curry and Klay Thompson to help with their pitch at an undisclosed location. The Spurs will reportedly send head coach Gregg Popovich and veteran Tim Duncan. Every team pitching to Durant will be speaking directly to him, agent Rich Kleiman and a select few of Durant’s inner-circle, according to Stein.

Coming off a Game 7 loss in the NBA Finals, Warriors owner Joe Lacob publicly stated his team’s plan to be aggressive in free agency. Pursuing a megastar like Durant certainly fits into that plan.
