Steph Curry has gone through the most grueling two year stretch of his life, and the busy summer days are only beginning.

The 2016 Rio Olympics are next on the docket, where Team USA Basketball will look to defend its gold medal on the international stage.

Except Curry won’t entirely commit to playing in the Olympics.

“I have no idea,” Curry told NBA.com’s Scott-Howard Cooper about his Olympic decision. “I’m still in the pool and still the goal is to be on the Olympic team if that’s the right decision for me. I am leaving myself a little bit of room just because I don’t know what it’s going to be like. But in a couple weeks I’ll know for sure.”

Curry gave off a different vibe when asked about the Olympics in front of the entire media on Saturday, making it seem like he would be there.

“Every time I’ve played for Team USA in the past, starting way back when I was 19 to the last two World Championships and whatnot, it always is a huge honor to represent your country and to team up with other guys and play against some of the best competition in the world and have that sense of pride for wearing USA across your chest,” Curry said.

“I’ve never played in the Olympics, and that’s what it’s all kind of geared up to. I think that’s definitely a special accomplishment to be able to be on that team.

“I’ve enjoyed every moment of playing for Team USA in whatever competition I’ve been in, and I’ve heard the Olympics and that sense of pride that you get when you’re out there and the opening ceremonies and actually playing in the event is second to anything. So I’m looking forward to it.”

The Olympics are set to begin Aug. 5, but the grueling process would start on July 18 for basketball olympians. The players are set to convene in Las Vegas with head coach Mike Krzyzewski for a three day practice, before crisscrossing the country in exhibition tuneup games, including a game here in Oakland at Oracle Arena.

Curry will be heavily criticized if he doesn’t participate, even with ankle and MCL injuries he suffered during the playoffs. The Warriors front office probably would prefer Curry sit this one out, but the next time the Summer Games roll around, the MVP will be a wily 32-year-old veteran.

Decisions, decisions.
