The Warriors are signing a player who can rebound the ball.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Warriors are bringing in Jayce Johnson, a seven-footer, on an Exhibit 10 contract for training camp.
Johnson averaged 5.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in the Summer League, and led the G-League this year with a 11.9 rebounds per game (and 8.6 points, 1.9 assists and 1.3 blocks per game).
The former Marquette product came out of school in 2020, having transferred in from Utah. He went undrafted after posting mediocre stats. His 2022 G-League stats exceed any of his college years.
Golden State is also reportedly working out a host of veteran free agents, as it sets up for a training camp competition to decide what to do with a pair of open roster spots and two-way slots. Read more about that here.
