Cincinnati groundskeeper gets caught under tarp during Reds-Giants rain delay

The tarp monster caught a victim on Monday night in Cincinnati.

As the Giants sat on the precipice of potentially grabbing the lead — with runners on second and third with one out — the grounds crew came charging out on the field.

Broadcaster Dave Flemming cast the rare announcer’s curse on a non-player, crediting the grounds crew for their hustle and execution.

The former was not under question. The latter, however….

Just as soon as the words left Flemming’s mouth, a member of the Reds grounds crew got caught under the tarp, left behind by his coworkers, trapped like a toddler under a rainbow parachute. He had to scuttle out the side and came out covered in dirt, but clearly fine.

The broadcast followed the unfortunate crew member, whose hat later flew off as the crew aimed to get the tarp roller off the field.
