No playoff matchup is an easy one, but the Warriors probably got what they wanted in a first-round matchup with the Sacramento Kings.

They’re favored by a whopping -270 mark for the series by some oddsmakers, as covered here.

It’s a matchup that pits the Warriors against an inexperienced team without having to travel outside of the greater Bay Area.

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst thinks the Warriors got the ideal playoff scenario.

“The Golden State Warriors,” Windhorst firmly said. “They get the sixth seed. They get the inexperienced Sacramento Kings starting this weekend. They don’t have to travel, they can take a bus to those games. At the start of the week, we saw the [Los Angeles] Clippers, [Los Angeles] Lakers and Warriors all unsure where they were going to go.

“One team was going to get the [Phoenix] Suns in the first round, not ideal. One team was going to have to go into the play-in, not ideal. One team was going to get the sixth seed, get the Kings who are formidable but inexperienced and weaker defensively. That was the sweet spot [and] the Warriors hit it.”

Our NBA Insider Marc J. Spears broke down the Warriors-Kings matchup on Tuesday and said he’s “extremely excited” for a series that will be the most expensive first-round series in NBA history.

Listen to the full interview below. Spears’ breakdown starts around the 7:20 mark.
