Of course he did.
There was five minute period this offseason where Giants fans thought Aaron Judge might be hitting a towering bomb vs. the Yankees on Opening Day. Ultimately, he decided to stay with the Yankees, and hit that towering bomb at the expense of the Giants on just he second pitch he saw this season.
Logan Webb mis-located his slider, throwing it low in the strike zone and in the middle of the plate, just where last year’s American League home-run king likes it. Judge turned on the pitch and blasted it 422 feet to dead center field.
The offseason was tough for Giants fans. First there was the Judge bait and switch, then the Carlos Correa one. They saw their team once again not land a superstar. Opening Day just served as another reminder of what could have been.
Webb got his revenge during the next at-bat, striking Judge out on four pitches.
