49ers long snapper Taybor Pepper reveals 3-year extension with hilarious, cinematic video

It’s not a position that gets talked about unless things go wrong. When it does go wrong, it’s almost only in catastrophic fashion. We’re talking about the long snapper.

The San Francisco 49ers just locked up their long snapper, Taybor Pepper, for another three years.

Pepper, who is very much online, posted the video above.

It’s got dramatic cuts of him walking into a game, him mic’d up, and then, after baiting the audience into believing thinking he could be leaving, he jumps to the classic “I’m not fucking leaving!” scene from The Wolf of Wall Street and always iconic “tell them to run me my money,” clip from North Carolina A&T head coach Sam Washington.

Pepper is sticking around. Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, it’s a deal which guarantees $1.5 million at signing.

While it’s not exactly going to register as the flashiest move of the offseason, it maintains at least two thirds of the 49ers’ kicking battery, with the 40-year-old Robbie Gould set to hit free agency.

It keeps one of the team’s quirkiest personalities in the building and retains familiarity on the special teams front, which is always preferable.
