Stephen Curry was bizarrely ejected with just over a minute left in a tight game vs. the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday, when he hurled his mouthpiece into the stands after Jordan Poole took a questionable three pointer.
On the possession preceding the ejection, Donte DiVincenzo got an offensive rebound and cycled the ball to Poole with the Warriors down by just two points, despite the shot clock resetting and Curry wide open at the top of the key, Poole launched a 30-footer that missed. Curry was visibly annoyed by the shot, and launched his mouthpiece into the crowd on his way back down the floor.
Throwing equipment into the stands is an automatic ejection, and Curry was immediately thrown out of the game.
Though he was the catalyst for the Warriors losing their best player, Poole made up for it by scoring the game-winning layup with two seconds on the clock. He and Curry then embraced in the tunnel postgame, and Poole had a little fun with it by throwing his mouthpiece when he saw Steph.
