As long as Tom Brady keeps playing, he’s going to be linked to the 49ers in some capacity. Even the emergence of Brock Purdy can’t slow down the rumors.
Despite Purdy winning six starts in a row and his first playoff game last week, the 49ers are still have the third best odds to sign Brady next offseason, according to the latest odds via bookies.com.
Brady, who is set to become a free agent, hasn’t announced if he’ll retire or not, but the bookmakers seem to believe that’s a long shot. According to bookies, the most likely scenario (22.2%) is that he signs with the Las Vegas Raiders, who just sent Derek Carr packing and are coached by Brady’s longtime offensive coordinator in New England, Josh McDaniels.
Next up are the Miami Dolphins, who have a win now ready team with a massive question mark at quarterback, considering Tua Tagovailoa’s concussion issues. A move to Miami would also allow Tom to stay close to his children and ex-wife who resides in Tampa Bay.
They’re followed by San Francisco, who were likely the favorites before Purdy took over. The 49ers odds to land Brady — who grew up in the Bay Area as a 49ers fan — will have something to do with how far Purdy takes them this postseason.
