The 49ers might be the hottest team in the NFL, but they aren’t getting a ton of love when it comes to the Super Bowl odds.
San Francisco is ranked fourth most likely out of the 14 teams to hoist the Lombardi according to the latest Las Vegas odds. At +500 ($100 bet wins $500), the Niners sit behind the Chiefs (+325), Bills (+400) and Eagles (+475).
Here’s the list of teams below the 49ers via PointsBet:
San Francisco enters the postseason on a 10-game win streak, but finished behind the Philadelphia Eagles for the No. 1 seed and would have to play them away from home in a potential NFC Championship. The Bills and Chiefs also finished the season with a better record than the 49ers, but San Francisco finished with a better point differential than all three of those teams.
Perhaps the biggest reason to put the likes of the Chiefs and Bills ahead of the 49ers is that they have arguably the two best quarterbacks in the NFL. As we saw in 2019, a player like Patrick Mahomes can be the difference in a Super Bowl, even if the other team’s roster is better.
The difference between Mahomes and Allen vs. Purdy may not be as wide as it was with Garoppolo, but it remains to be seen if the gap is close enough for the Niners to go all the way.
