It’s the scariest scene we’ve seen in an NFL game in decades.

The Monday night matchup between the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals was postponed in the first quarter after Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field. He received treatment — including CPR — while laying motionless for over 10 minutes. He appeared to be receiving oxygen as he was placed in the ambulance and taken off the field.

According to local reports, Hamlin has a pulse but is not breathing on his own and is being transported to the University of Cincinnati.

Hamlin collapsed after tackling Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins. Hamlin got up to his feet, then appeared to pass out and fell to the ground.

Multiple players on both teams appeared in great distress as Hamilin received treatment, and a few wept openly as time passed. The entire Bills sideline surrounded Hamlin as he received care.

Hamlin is 24 years old and was drafted by the Bills out of the University of Pittsburgh in 2021.

The league has decided to postpone the game for Monday night, and is still working through arrangements on when it will continue. At the time of writing, Hamlin is in critical condition.
