The Warriors will remain without superstar Stephen Curry through the New Year, but they will be getting healthier soon.

Andrew Wiggins, who has missed the previous 10 games with a groin injury, is angling toward a return in the coming days. The All-Star forward will mess both games of Tuesday and Wednesday’s back-to-back, but could make his return on Friday against the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Warriors, Steve Kerr said before Tuesday’s tilt against Charlotte, had actually been targeting Wednesday for Wiggins to come back. But he fell ill, delaying the reinforcement.

“Unfortunately he’s sick now,” Kerr said of Wiggins Tuesday. “He’s been cleared to play, but he’s not in the building tonight because he came down ill yesterday. So he’ll be out tonight and tomorrow, hopefully he gets better quickly and we’ll see how he’s doing. He would’ve played tomorrow night, we were targeting tomorrow.”

The last time he played, on Dec. 3, Wiggins dropped 36 points in 33 minutes during a blowout win over Houston.

Wiggins, an All-Star last season, is averaging 19.1 points 5.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game this year. He’s shooting a career-high 45% from 3 and providing strong perimeter defense.

Draymond Green (foot) is listed as probable on the injury report and will play. Kerr said Green sustained the soft-tissue injury during Golden State’s previous road trip, but it’s not considered serious.

JaMychal Green (health and safety protocol) remains out and Curry (shoulder subluxation) is expected to be re-evaluated in about two weeks.
