For the second-straight game, dating back to last season, the 49ers will square up with a Kyler Murray-less Arizona Cardinals team.
He leads the Cardinals’ list of inactives:
QB Kyler Murray
CB Byron Murphy
LB Jesse Luketa
LB Victor Dimukeje
OL Max Garcia
TE Zach Ertz
Murray, nursing a hamstring injury, missed last week’s game against the Los Angeles Rams, a 27-17 Cardinals win. They were buoyed by Colt McCoy, who will face the 49ers once again.
He was excellent the last time he faced them, going 22-of-26 for 249 yards and a TD. That was pretty close to last week’s mark of 26-of-37 for 238 yards and a TD. As far as backups go, McCoy has worked himself into one of the league’s best.
Aside from an ugly lost to Carolina last season, McCoy’s had some sterline performances in his time with the Cardinals. He won’t, however, have Hollywood Brown at his disposal. The speedy receiver was not activated off injured reserve as he returns from a foot injury.
San Francisco will face McCoy, who has Deandre Hopkins active, without two of its three starting defensive linemen for another week. Samson Ebukam was the one questionable player for the 49ers heading into Monday night, but he’ll miss out with a quad/Achilles injury. Arik Armstead also remains out with a foot/ankle injury.
Here’s the full list of the 49ers’ inactives:
RB Ty Davis-Price
DE Samson Ebukam
DE Kemoko Turay
DL Arik Armstead
LB Curtis Robinson
OL Nick Zakelj
This marks the seventh game and sixth-straight game Armstead has missed this season. He’s been dealing with a left fibula fracture/stress fracture and plantar fasciitis in his right foot.
