So we’re doing this again huh?
A year after experts and statistical models gave the Golden State Warriors minuscule odds to win the NBA Title, the folks over at ESPN are fading them again. Just two of the World Wide Leader’s 18 NBA experts are picking the Dubs to win it all.
The Milwaukee Bucks are the favorites with 12 experts picking them. Interestingly, the Los Angeles Clippers also have more buzz than the Warriors, with three ESPNers picking them to win it all. Here’s the list:
As was the case last year, Las Vegas does not agree. The Warriors are co-favorites with the Celtics and Clippers at +600, the Nets are at +700 and the Bucks are at +800.
It may be the case that the recent Draymond Green drama has scared people off their Warriors picks, and there is some merit to that concern.
This year, GSW is blending the veteran trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Green with established players entering their primes — Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins — and promising young talents like Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody and James Wiseman.
If the youngsters hit in a major way, the Warriors could have as much talent and depth as ever.
