The interior of the 49ers’ offensive line has been the subject of some consternation. It’s a group featuring a rookie in right guard Spencer Burford, a second-year player with almost no game experience in left guard Aaron Banks, and a 29-year-old center in Jake Brendel who has 250 career snaps on offense.
Those worries did not dissipate after Trey Lance was hurried consistently in the preseason finale.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the 49ers brought in veteran offensive guard John Miller for a visit and likely workout.
This comes after The San Francisco Chronicle’s Eric Branch reported the team has made trade inquiries about interior offensive linemen, but that no trade is imminent.
With the 53-man roster cuts due on August 31, it will be interesting to see how the 49ers approach the offensive line, especially with both Mike McGlinchey and Daniel Brunskill recovering from injuries.
