It’s time for roster moves.
After waiving wide receiver Taysir Mack — who dropped a pass, which was then intercepted by Deommodore Lenoir for a would-be pick-six on Wednesday — earlier on Friday, the 49ers are adding a veteran.
Per Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle, the 49ers are signing wide receiver Willie Snead.
The team had also worked out veteran receiver Dede Westbrook, but opted for Snead, who filled valuable roles for both the New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens. He had a down year in 2021, catching just four passes for 38 yards with the Panthers and Raiders/
The 49ers are in a situation where they may only keep five receivers in the roster, with a potential sixth spot to be contested by a group of unproven players, and now Snead.
