The Giants have an All-Star starter.

San Francisco is no stranger to having All-Stars, let alone All-Star starters, but Joc Pederson, a Bay Area native in his first season with the franchise, becomes the first Giant not named Buster Posey or Brandon Crawford to make an All-Star starting lineup since Pablo Sandoval and Melky Cabrera in 2012.

Pederson has been consistent bright spot for the Giants in the midst of a frustrating season for the team, hitting 21 home runs and driving in 41 RBI while batting .264 with an .882 OPS.

This is not a first for Pederson, though. He was named an All-Star starter back in 2015 with the Dodgers, when he had an electric first half of his rookie season.

Pederson will play alongside Ronald Acuña Jr. and Mookie Betts in the outfield of a stacked National League lineup.

The rest of the All-Stars will be announced this Sunday at 2:30 P.T.
