At long last, the Warriors have made a move.

Over the past couple days, Golden State has seen Gary Payton II and Otto Porter Jr. pried away. The team has parted ways with Juan Toscano-Anderson and Damion Lee. Nemanja Bjelica is reportedly thinking of heading home to Europe.

But they got Kevon Looney. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Warriors center will re-sign on a three-year, $25.5 million deal that amounts to an $8.5 million a year average.

Looney was the team’s ironman last season, as their only player to play in all 104 games. It was an outstanding achievement after multiple years dealing with nerve issues and other injuries.

He was massive in the playoffs, especially at the end of the Grizzlies series and against the Mavericks. He served up a career-high 22 rebounds in the closeout Game 6 against Memphis and had a career-high 21 points plus 12 boards in Game 2 against Dallas.

His defensive impact, rebounding and value as a screener was seen throughout a season he averaged 6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

With Looney back, the Warriors’ main priority at this point is finding wings to fill the void left by Payton II and Porter Jr.
