Fake Klay Thompson releases video of getting into Chase Center, shooting on court before Game 5

The legend of fake Klay Thompson continues to grow.

You might remember the Thompson impersonator, Dawson Gurley, from 2017, when he showed up at Warriors games looking like a store-brand version of Thompson.

He’s back. Or at least, he was back.

According to Gurley, and a letter he posted to Twitter, he has been banned from Chase Center for life and lost out on $10,000 worth of tickets because he walked through security dressed up as Thompson and then proceeded to take shots on the court.

On Tuesday, Gurley posted the full video of what happened. It shows him, without a credential or identification, walk through the Chase Center media entrance dressed as Thompson.

No one stops him and one employee even tells him, “Let’s get a dub today Klay.”

After he recovers from the shock of security letting him through, Gurley then goes out onto the court and chucks some shots, hitting threes and airballing a layup.

Security eventually realized what was happening and escorted him out, but not before he took a photo with P-Lo.

Gurley said the ban and loss of the tickets was worth it.

He’s even got support from Minnesota’s Patrick Beverley, who invited him out the next time the Warriors visit the Timberwolves.

While it might be the end of fake Klay in the Bay, who knows where he’ll pop up next.
