Another tough break for Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins.
Once again, Jenkins made a public appeal to the league on Monday, saying that he thought Jaren Jackson Jr. was fouled on a 3-pointer by Draymond Green at the end of Game 4, and that he’d be “curious” to see what the NBA thought on the last two minute report.
The league doesn’t agree with Jenkins. The NBA said in their report that Jackson Jr. was blocked cleanly by Green with 13.6 seconds remaining. Here’s the play in question:
“I’m actually curious what they’ll say there, I think there was contact,” Jenkins said postgame. “I’m just curious what they’re going to say at the end of that one, that was heavily contested but I think there was a lot of contact. Probably a rushed shot on our part, but just didn’t go our way.”
Ironically, the only missed calls according to the NBA in the last two minutes were two travels by the Grizzlies, one by Kyle Anderson at the 1:48 mark and one by Dillon Brooks — which would have been his fifth turnover — at the 56 second mark.
