There has been another unexpected twist in the Warriors-Grizzlies playoff series.
Golden State head coach Steve Kerr will miss Game 4 after testing positive for COVID-19 just a few hours before tip-off. The positive test would make it unlikely that Kerr would be available to travel to Memphis for Game 5 on Wednesday.
Lead assistant Mike Brown, who was officially hired as the new head coach of the Sacramento Kings on Monday, will take over for Kerr. Brown previously took over for Kerr during the 2017 playoffs while the Warriors head coach dealt with complications from back surgery. Golden State went 13-0 with Brown in charge.
Kerr had been wearing a mask and sounding horse the last couple of days.
On the Grizzlies side, Ja Morant has officially been ruled out for Game 4.
