I looks like it’s time for the Warriors’ best lineup to be their starting lineup.
That’s the latest report from Shams Charania of The Athletic, who said that Golden State is leaning towards a starting lineup of Stephen Curry, Jordan Poole, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green for Wednesday’s Game 5 vs. the Nuggets.
Because Curry, Thompson and Green all missed significant chunks of the season, this lineup made it’s debut in Game 1 of the Denver series and blasted the Nuggets off the court in the first two games. It’s since been less effective away from home, but still holds a plus-minus of +26 in 32 minutes this series. Game 5 would mark the first time all five players have started a game together.
It would also mark the first time Curry has started a game in this series. The two-time MVP came off the bench in the first four games due to a minutes restriction as he worked his way back from a foot injury. Curry ended up playing 37 minutes in Game 4, essentially ending his minutes restriction and any reason for him to remain on the bench.
