The Sacramento Kings are interested in trying to bring more institutional knowledge from the Warriors organization up the I-80.
Former Warriors head coach Mark Jackson and current assistant coach Mike Brown are two of several coaches the Kings are set to interview, according to multiple reports. The Kings fired Luke Walton — another former Warriors coach — last November during their 16th consecutive losing season.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski was the first to report Sacramento’s interest in Brown. The Athletic’s shams Charania Yahoo Sports’ later reported Jackson is also in the mix.
Jackson coached the Warriors from 2011 to 2014, going 121-109 with GSW. Since then, the former All-Star point guard has broadcast games for ESPN and ABC. He’ll interview for the vacancy next week, per Yahoo Sports insider Chris Haynes.
Brown has been with Golden State since 2016. The defensive-minded coach was previously the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers and, briefly, the Lakers.
Mike D’Antoni, Steve Clifford and several others will reportedly interview for the Sacramento job.
