For now, we will continue to play the waiting game.
The Warriors and Steve Kerr gave updates on the status of Stephen Curry for Saturday’s playoff opener, and there still remain more questions than answers.
The good news is that Curry could return to full practice this week as he recovers from the bone bruise in his foot. The less good news is that the Warriors aren’t sure if Curry will return this week. If he doesn’t, Curry would not be able to play on Saturday. Kerr said it is imperative that Curry participates in a full court scrimmage before he can play in a game.
The Warriors next scrimmage is planned for Thursday, which could prove to be a tipping point for Curry’s Game 1 status. Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN says that Curry remains a “close-call” for Saturday.
It has almost been a month since Curry was knocked out of the game on March 16 in a loss to the Celtics. Curry missed the last 12 games of the season. Golden State went 6-6 in those games.
