Brandon Belt, who has been vocal about being the Giants’ captain since last season, took the moniker as literally as possible on Opening Day.
Before throwing the ceremonial first pitch, Belt showed up in a boat being towed into the ballpark, manning the craft while wearing a captains hat and with a homemade black taped “C” on his chest.
Belt threw baseballs into the stands before hopping off the boat to toss the ceremonial first pitch to Gabe Kapler. The entire thing was quite a sight.
