Things are bleak for the Warriors right now, so how about some good news?
That’s what ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski provided on Sunday evening, reporting that Draymond Green should return to the court in the next 7-10 days.
“I’m told 7-10 days on Draymond Green,” Woj said. “He had a workout after the Warriors practice today in LA. He stayed after the Warriors’ loss to the Lakers last night. It’s not a moment too soon. This is a team that for the first time in four months has dropped to second in the league in defensive efficiency behind Boston, and now they’ve dropped to third place in the Western Conference, half a game behind the Memphis Grizzlies.”
Green has missed the Warriors’ last 25 games, 27 if you include his seven second cameo during Klay Thompson’s return. In those games Golden State has gone 14-13, and has lost a season-high four in a row. Before Green’s injury, the Warriors were 29-8.
Green has been dealing with an L5-S1 disc injury in his back, an issue the Warriors originally thought was a calf injury.
The Warriors hit rock bottom on Saturday night, falling to a Lakers team that has been in a similar slump for much of the season.
