Aaron Rodgers says Instagram post has nothing to do with retirement, stemmed from ‘intense gratitude’ after 12-day cleanse

Those expecting breaking news to come out of Aaron Rodgers’ weekly chat with Pat McAfee were disappointed on Tuesday. Well, that depends on your definition of “breaking news.”

Rodgers said that his Instagram post on Monday — which he explained was not cryptic — where he thanked members of the Packers and expressed gratitude, did not have anything to do with an announcement about his future.

“Let me put this disclaimer out right now… there will be no news today and no decision on my future,” Rodgers said on “The Pat McAfee Show”.

Instead, he says the post was spawned by the culmination of a 12-day cleanse that had him feeling grateful.

“I just got out of a 12-day Panchakarma,” Rodgers said. “It’s a cleanse that originated in India, it’s been going on for thousands of years, and it’s something that I’ve done in the offseason. I’m just getting my head above the sand now and seeing what’s going on out there. But no decision about my future today.”

Traditionally, Panchakarma is a method of cleansing the body that involves the five main Karmas. It can include induced vomiting, purgation, an oil enema, nasal instillation of medicated substances and a decoction enema.

“There’s conversations to be had… I don’t have anxiety about the decision. But I am looking forward to making the decision and moving forward and I think it’s best for me, the team, and all parties involved. Let’s just get this behind us,” he said.
