Draymond Green was named to his fourth All-Star game, but won’t play due to the L5-S1 disc injury that’s kept him out of Golden State’s last 14 games.

Green, 31, is set to miss his 15th game on Thursday night and is scheduled to be re-evaluated prior to the All-Star break. He announced on TNT that he won’t participate.

The Warriors forward was named a Western Conference reserve, along with Devin Booker, Luka Doncic, Rudy Gobert, Karl-Anthony Towns, Donovan Mitchell and Chris Paul.

All-Star reserves, unlike the starters, are selected by the head coaches of each conference. Since Green won’t play due to his injury, commissioner Adam Silver can appoint his replacement.

Green is averaging 7.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game while anchoring the best defense in the NBA.
