A 49ers fan is in a medically induced coma after being beaten outside of SoFi Stadium during Sunday’s NFC Championship Game, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Daniel Luna, an Oakland restaurant owner, was taken to the hospital after being found on the ground in Lot L of the SoFi parking lot by paramedics at around 4 p.m. on Sunday, a half-hour after kickoff.

Luna had sustained injuries to the face and upper body area consistant with an attack, according to emergency room staff at Harbor-UCLA. The injuries are considered severe.

Luna was was wearing a San Francisco jersey and black pants when discovered by paramedics, according to police.

“They believe he suffered from an assault at the stadium to his upper body and facial area,” Inglewood Police Lt. Geoffrey Meeks told the LA Times.

Authorities are still working to find the attacker or attackers. Police will rely heavily on video surveillance to identify potential suspects.

Luna is the owner of Mistura, a Peruvian fusion restaurant on Piedmont Avenue in Oakland. Luna attended the game by himself after plans fell through for individuals that he originally planned to attend the game with.

Luna did not appear to be robbed during the attack according to a friend with knowledge of the situation, and still had his wallet and valuables with him when being taken to the hospital.
