The 49ers playoff odds took a hit on Thursday, but it wasn’t catastrophic.
San Francisco still has a 70% chance to make the playoffs, down 13% after their 20-17 loss to the Tennessee Titans. The 49ers (8-7) still hold on to the No. 6 seed, but now by just a half game as they wait for the 7-7 Vikings, Saints and Eagles to play later this week.
The 49ers have head-to-head tiebreakers vs. both the Eagles and Vikings, and would get the seeding nod if they finished the season tied with either. The 49ers have not played the Saints this season.
San Francisco should be able to take care of business vs. the Texans at home next week, before concluding their season at SoFi Stadium vs. the Rams, who could be playing for the division title.
If the playoffs were to start today, the sixth seeded 49ers would face the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay, who currently sit in the No. 3 seed. It would be the first time San Francisco has faced Tom Brady in a Bucs uniform.
