49ers-Titans inactives: Star receiver to make return

On a short-week road trip to Tennesee, the 49ers will not have the services of two of their rookies. Running back Elijah Mitchell (knee) will miss a second-straight week, as will safety Talanoa Hufanga (knee).

Below is the 49ers’ full list of inactives.

Given those injuries and the questionable status of Azeez Al-Shaair, the 49ers promoted two players — running back Brian Hill and safety Jarrod Wilson — and activated linebacker Curtis Robinson.

Al-Shaair (elbow), does look set to play, which would be a massive boon to San Francisco against a team in Tennessee which leans heavily on running the ball.

The Titans, meanwhile, have serious injury issues up front, with starting left tackle Taylor Lewan, starting left guard Roger Saffold and backup tackle Kendall Lamm all out, the latter of two being placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

Despite that, the Titans get a massive boost from their receiving corps. Star receiver A.J. Brown (chest) has been activated from the injured reserve list and Julio Jones will play through a hamstring injury against a subpar corner group for the 49ers.
