The NFL season is in as precarious spot as it has been all year. All of a sudden, the league has jumped to dealing with hundreds of COVID-19 cases after having about that many over the course of three months. This is all as case rates to rise across the country, as the Omicron variant’s impact looms larger by the day.

So far, the 49ers have managed to avoid a single positive case this year, but their counterparts in Los Angeles are currently the hardest-hit team in the NFL.

By Thursday, the Rams added nine more players to the Reserve/COVID-19 list, raising their total to an astonishing 25 players. The Cleveland Browns and Washington Football Team have 21 players each on the list, per ESPN’s Field Yates.

Below is the Rams’ full list of players on the Reserve/COVID-19 list:

  • WR Odell Beckham Jr.
  • DB Terrell Burgess
  • CB Dont’e Deayon
  • S Jordan Fuller
  • DB Tyler Hall (practice squad)
  • T Rob Havenstein
  • RB Darrell Henderson Jr.
  • OLB Justin Hollins
  • TE Brycen Hopkins
  • DB JuJu Hughes
  • OT Alaric Jackson
  • DT Sebastian Joseph-Day
  • TE Johnny Mundt
  • TE Jared Pinkney
  • CB Jalen Ramsey
  • DE Jonah Williams (practice squad)
  • T Tremayne Anchrum Jr.

  • G Bobby Evans
  • DB Jake Gervase
  • LB Von Miller
  • LB Ogbonnia Okoronkwo
  • DB Kareem Orr

The NFL imposed new protocols for players, forcing teams to revert to online meetings, preventing players from attending public events, and a number of other measures, as discussed here. It also amends protocols to potentially have players return from the list quicker than before.
