Tyler Rogers love for Bud Light apparently runs in the family.
The sidearm specialist has made his affinity for the macro-brew known this season. He first mentioned the blue cans when trying to lighten the mood after blowing a save in Los Angeles on July 20.
“I’m going to have a Bud Light and rinse this one off and I’ll be ready to go tomorrow,” Rogers said with a chuckle. Apparently the strategy worked, Rogers got the save in the next outing, tossing a 1-2-3 inning. Rogers mentioned Bud Light again on Sept 12, saying that he grabs a blue can whenever Jake McGee comes out for the ninth. He was even sent some Bud Light related swag earlier this season.
It should then come as no surprise that Rogers’ twin brother, Taylor, a reliever for the Twins who was in attendance at Oracle Park on Saturday night, wanted to talk Bud Light with his brother in the bullpen.
“Hey Ty! There’s no Bud Light in this stadium,” Taylor yelled down to his brother from the stands, despite holding one in his hand.
“You have one right there!” Tyler observantly answered.
“You have to take a lap to find it!” Taylor concluded.
For the Rogers’ Bud Light is non-negotiable, even if it costs three times the price and you have to search high and low to get your hands on one.
