It’s hard to call something a reunion when the relationship only lasted a week. On August 16, in the midst of training camp, the 49ers signed former Seahawks linebacker Mychal Kendricks to a one year deal.
On August 24, the 49ers placed Kendricks on injured reserve with turf toe, the same injury safety Jaquiski Tartt had and which he returned from before the start of the season.
According to multiple reports, Kendricks was released off injured reserve with an injury settlement and has since been a free agent.
Per ESPN’s Field Yates, the 49ers brought in Kendricks for a visit and could be re-signed.
The 49ers are still without linebacker Dre Greenlaw, who’s on injured reserve, with Marcell Harris and Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles their two depth linebackers behind Fred Warner and Azeez Al-Shaair. The team traded away Jonas Griffith to the Denver Broncos this offseason and had Justin Hilliard poached off waivers by the Giants.
