It might have been a bizarre decision for the Chicago Cubs not to retain Kris Bryant, but they sure knew how to honor him upon his return.
Bryant was brought to tears by a tribute video and standing ovation from the club that drafted him upon his return to Chicago on Friday afternoon. It was pretty cool.

Cubs gave Kris Bryant the number 17 from their scoreboard and a 2016 flag after playing a tribute video that lasted more than two minutes. Looked like he was wiping tears away as he watched. pic.twitter.com/CsCvs3qKMj

Perhaps all the hoopla and emotion was a bit much for the one-time MVP. He went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts and a walk.
