For a second straight night, a lefty Giants outfielder was pulled from Dodger Stadium early with an injury concern.
After Mike Yastrzemski left Monday night following his drilling a pitch off his leg, it was Mike Tauchman whom the club was worried about as he exited following a remarkable catch in right field that left him shaken.
In the second inning, Tauchman, this time making a great play in Los Angeles in right field rather than left, sprinted back to the warning track after playing in against opposing pitcher Walker Buehler, who put a charge into a Kevin Gausman offering. Upon hitting the dirt, Tauchman lunged to his left with his back to home plate and somehow made the catch, but then stayed down. Trainer Dave Groeschner and Gabe Kapler went out to check on him, but he tried to shake it off and remained in, at least for a few innings.
For the bottom of the fourth inning, LaMonte Wade Jr. moved from first base to right, and Darin Ruf entered to play first base. There was no immediate update from the Giants about Tauchman’s condition.
Yastrzemski, whose X-rays on his right leg were negative, was deemed day to day with a lower leg contusion. He was out of the lineup Tuesday.
