No, not the one you’re thinking of. It’s the other Brandon Marshall, who also played for the Denver Broncos. He’s also a veteran linebacker. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the 49ers worked out Marshall, who played six years with the Broncos from 2013-18 after a rookie year with Jacksonville in 2012.

The linebacker position has been wide open for San Francisco this offseason behind Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw. Azeez Al-Shaair would be the presumptive No. 3 and SAM linebacker after showing well in his limited snaps over the past couple of seasons. Behind him, there is almost no clarity.
San Francisco released veteran special teamer Mark Nzeocha and his $1.5 million cap hit this offseason, with Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles, a group of young players, and former Eagles linebacker Nate Gerry currently competing for two, or possibly three spots. The 49ers signed undrafted free agents Jonas Griffith (signed then released last year due to roster constraints) and two sixth-year senior linebackers in Justin Hilliard and Elijah Sullivan.
Marshall was a starter for four years in Denver, with career-highs of 112 tackles, 11 tackles for a loss, nine pass breakups, a pair of forced fumbles, three QB hits and an interception in 2014.
