This should be fun.
With Stephen Curry and Draymond Green being scratched for rest, and Kelly Oubre missing a second straight game with a sprained left wrist, Steve Kerr is going with the kids.
Rookies James Wiseman and Nice Mannion, who was called up from the G-League bubble just two days ago, will both start for the Warriors, alongside Andrew Wiggins, Damion Lee and Juan Toscano-Anderson. This will be Mannion’s first career start.
Wiseman played just 11 minutes and struggled in Wednesday’s loss vs. Portland, and Kerr acknowledged that he will to play more after the All-Star break as the Warriors try to develop their 19-year old center of the future. Wiseman missed 11 games from Feb. 2 to Feb. 20 with a broken wrist, and has yet to develop a rhythm since his return.
Mannion, who was selected by the Warriors with the 48th overall pick in this year’s draft, will make just his seventh NBA appearance. He hasn’t played in more than 10 minutes in a single game this season.
Jordan Poole, the Warriors’ first round pick last year who was also called up after dominating in the bubble, is expected to get rotation minutes.
