Another day, another piece of Deshaun Watson news. Will the Texans actually trade the franchise quarterback? Probably not. But the 25-year-old has requested a trade and has clearly been unhappy in Houston for a long time. J.J. Watt’s departure on Friday is unlikely to make him feel any better.
It’s unclear what Watson’s future is, and the cost of acquiring him will obviously be monumental. But if he intends to use his leverage to force his way out towards a preferable destination, Friday provided good news from the 49ers’ perspective.
Per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, there are a handful of teams that Watson is “intrigued by.” Among those teams? The Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers. Fowler said Watson is not likely to be interested in the New York Jets.
The more notable part of Fowler’s report is that the Texans have told teams they won’t be moving Watson.
“I’ve talked to several execs who’ve said they think GM Nick Caserio is dug in here,” Fowler said.

"Deshaun Watson has a list of teams he's 'intrigued by' … I didn't get all the teams, but I was told that the Denver Broncos, San Francisco 49ers are two of them. … I was told the Jets, 'eh probably not.'" pic.twitter.com/8YOmTbF3zw
