Russell Wilson ‘frustrated’ with pass protection, ‘not sure’ how long he’ll play for Seahawks

Is Russell Wilson in the mix? All of a sudden, the Seahawks’ franchise quarterback seems to be less than enthralled with his team. It began with a report from CBS’ Jason La Canfora, who said Wilson is “increasingly frustrated” by the team’s lack of pass protection and that it’s a situation which “warrants serious monitoring.”

That seemed to insinuate that Wilson could potentially want out. What is perhaps more likely, is that he’s using his position as leverage to get the Seahawks to improve the offensive line.

Wilson spoke to media on Tuesday and confirmed Canfora’s report.

“I’ve definitely been hit. I’ve been sacked almost 400 times,” Wilson said. “So we’ve got to get better. I’ve got to find ways to get better too… I’m frustrated with getting hit too much.”

Wilson also joined the Dan Patrick Show and refused to guarantee that he’d remain in Seattle for the remainder of his career.

“The reality of professional sports is things happen, things change,” Wilson said. “I’m not sure how long I’ll play in Seattle. Hopefully it was going to be forever, but things change, obviously, along the way.”
