This does not seem to be the Warriors’ year, either. After a pair of opening losses, both defined by poor play and shot selection from Andrew Wiggins and Kelly Oubre, the Warriors have been very clearly finding their identity with Draymond Green still out. Rookie James Wiseman already appears to be the second-most talented player on the team.
Wiseman will have to be leaned on even more this year. The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported on Sunday that forward Marquese Chriss suffered a broken right fibula, ending his season.

It is yet unclear how or when the injury happened, but Chriss posted the following on his Instagram story, indicating that it may have happened Saturday afternoon.

Chriss, the former 8th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, averaged career bests with the Warriors last year of 9.3 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. Without him, the team will lean on Wiseman, Kevon Looney and Alen Smailagic. They’ll almost certainly need to add another front court player.
